A promoter is any body which, in a commercial context, promotes companies producing or preparing organic products without selling them.

Efforts to promote these organizations often result in the publication on paper or electronically of various documents such as brochures, lists, display, etc., all designed to inform a targeted audience on a range of products offered by companies that adhere to their promotion program.

These guidelines are intended to prevent information, that is conveyed by these bodies, to be fragmented, inaccurate or illegal under the provisions of the Act Respecting Reserved Designations and Added-Value Claims.

Considering that these organizations are aimed at by the Act and to give them a sense of responsability, the CARTV has introduced Section 5.8 in Part 1 of the Québec Organic Designation Specification Manual that specifies their obligations.
